    8 It might be worth to mention that the HAL Atheros has released the source for [http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.ath5k.devel/1247 differs] from the HAL versions we use in !MadWifi, and thus is no drop-in replacement. In theory it should be possible to integrate the HAL and thus make !MadWifi a fully open-source driver. However, in the light of [http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.madwifi.devel/6804 recent discussions] and the amount of work required for such a step, it seems questionable if it will happen. It's likely that this will be subject of discussions in the madwifi-devel list.
