Adds subversion instructions to the page (duh!)

Getting MADWifi

Until such time as there is a release, the best way of getting MADWifi is to get it out of the MADWifi Subversion Repository.

To download MADWifi via subversion, change directory to somewhere you would like to keep the sources, and type:

svn checkout http://svn.madwifi.org/trunk madwifi-ng

...which will download the latest sources to a directory called madwifi-ng. To update, simply change directory to madwifi-ng and execute:

svn update

This will update your sources to the bleeding-edge version.

* Don't forget to read the svn manual page!

Downloading the latest Snapshots

If you can't handle SVN, or just don't have a net connection, you could download madwifi using HTTP (on another machine, if needs be). Tarballs for the new code can be found at http://snapshots.madwifi.org. The old code can be found at http://madwifi.otaku42.de (including the latest experimental drivers - still gets updated).

Downloading .debs

If you are a debian user, then good for you! You can download debs from:

The ongoing work to get madwifi finally into Debian proper is being done as a Debian Alioth project:

Downloading .rpms

  • [Fedora users: The tarball has a madwifi.spec embedded. If you do rpmbuild --ta <tar ball> you will get your packages]
