ubiquiti sr9 28db txpower setting

Reported by: anonymous Assigned to:
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: madwifi: driver Version:
Keywords: sr9 ubiquiti Cc:
Patch is attached: 0 Pending:

Description

We are using the SR9 900 mhz card that claims 28db capability. setting the card to highest power still reports 16dBm as max. (I understand the driver reports -10dBm for some reason, thus reporting 26dBm)

Countrycode set to 840, current madwifi tree.

Need to be able to set 28dBm

Waiting to roll out mesh radios using the SR9 and Madwifi driver, but we cannot until this issue is resilved. Has there been any progress on resolving this?

SR9 amplifier is external. The card's max transmit should be 18dBm. The amplifier does the work.

The SR9 uses slightly fudged power settings check the ubnt dot com website under support. the 16db is actually full power the 700Mw Output. The power offset is 12 Db.
