Check these drivers for USB support

Description

These drivers came in my OvisLink? Evo-W108USB (atheros 5523 chipset) wireless stick installation CD. They are bad packaged and doesn't include source code, but OvisLink? people would provide you with it. They have published source code for their Access Points. I've only seen them in French and Spanish websites.

Hope this could help.

  • priority changed from major to minor.
  • milestone deleted.

This is off-topic for a ticket. However:

Do you just assume that OvisLink would be willing to publish the source for these drivers, or do you know it? I ask since I think they might be bound to an NDA that prohibits them to release these sources. Do you have any contacts at OvisLink France?

I've called "OvisLink? Spain" Technical support and talked to Technical Manager. He told me that you can contact him to request all information you need. I don't know if he can disclose all that info, but I feel that this guy is open to collaborate with you.

Please, send me an email address where I can send you his contact information.

Looking forward to see you collaborate with OvisLink?.

Fernando

Have you contacted Ovislink people?

Sorry, not yet. I didn't find the time to before my vacations, and it (the mail containing the contact information) dropped out of my sight since I came back. I've set it on my to do list again, trying to contact them either today or tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me.

Anything new? I have a similar USB wireless stick (SMC, but I think it's the same chipset as this one) and I'm very interested..

Thanks in advance

My Siemens Gigaset USB Adapter 108 has the same Atheros 5523 chipset. How is the progress coming along?

hello@all,

just wondering that there are drivers for linux for Edimax EW-7315Ug and Ovislink EVO-W108USB in their download sections (both Atheros AR5005UX/AR5005UG USB-clients)... Perhaps someone at madwifi can pick them up for further atheros-usb-projects??? just my 2 cents... :)

thx for reading...
