Strange MAC change issue in madwifi

That's a bit strange. I tried to change the MAC address of my wireless card, but something went wrong: I changed wifi0 address to 00:C0:49:F7:50:E6, but when I try to create a VAP, it gets the address 06:C0:49:F7:50:E6:70:BE. What's the matter?

it is normal , becasue you need vap

This is intentional behaviour, denominating a "locally administered address". See here for details.
