Kernel panic

Component: madwifi: 802.11 stack Version: trunk
Keywords: kernel panic cleanup_ath_buf aiee Cc:
Patch is attached: 0 Pending:

Description (Last modified by mrenzmann)

It's the third time I'm getting this kernel panic:

RIP [<...>] :ath_pci:cleanup_ath_buf +0x36/0x180
 RSP <...>
CR2: 000...
Kernel panic - not syncing: Aiee, killing interrupt handler

Is this a known bug? I'm using MadWifi from Subversion on a Gentoo AMD64 installation. What can I do to solve this problem?

are you sure it's these are really "same" panics? After all the guy in #1998 has lots of "different" kernel panics and some really strange NMIs (Hardware Failure?!).

I haven't had experienced a crash since I have executed this after starting eth.wlan0

echo 0 > /proc/sys/dev/wifi0/diversity

as described in the comment "06/19/08 14:40:59". So I hope it's the "same" kernel panic.

Sorry, I didn't have any of those crashes anymore since I've turned of diversity so that I cannot post here the full dump. I'm pretty sure, my problem is a duplicate of #1998.
