When using Madwifi in Reapeater mode you are unable to change the mode from 11b

Description

When you create a WDS vap you cannot change the operating mode from 802.11b. In order to use 11g in WDS I must first create an AP vap set it to 11g and then create the WDS vap. Is this a bug or is the normal?

Checked using trunk version; same problem. iwpriv reports Interface doesn't accept private ioctl... mode(8BE2): Network dropped connection on reset. (only the first time command is issued) (if you try to set the mode again iwpriv appears to work but the mode does not change.) I am using svn 3069. Wireless tools version 28 and wireless extensions version 16.

I don't know if this is related; but I haven't been able to use WDS successfully since svn 2799.

I was using WDS to link an OpenWRT router (a netgear wgt634u) to a broadcom based DD-WRT router.

I get no errors (except for 1 invalid TX from if/wconfig for the wifi0 interface)

svn 2799 works fine with WDS; I'm using G mode too
