Description (Last modified by mrenzmann)

I've a similar error as the ticket #247, using the last madwifi driver release 0.9.3.2, or the madwifi-ng-r2667-20070825 branch. This problem happens on my laptop with a Atheros 5212 SMC pcmcia card, and with a high probability in a standard configuration:

wifi0: ath_chan_set: unable to reset channel 6 (2437 MHz) flags 0xc0 'Hardware didn't respond as expected' (HAL status 3)

That's look like an IRQ sharing related bug. On my laptop the pcmcia IRQ is shared with the USB devices, and the internal USB bluetooth dongle.

doing a ping, on an other wifi target seems improve things (the link become reliable): ping wifi_target -i0.2 -s0

Otherwise a lockup in the bluetooth stack seems generate the same atheros lock-up... and a ifconfig ath0 down, and up, seems to restart the madwifi driver after this lock-up.

Is this, the atheros IRQ code faulty ?

Best Regards,

I've the same problem with a minipci AR5212 board and madwifi-0.9.3.3. When no more wifi activity , after some time, it is no more possible to reach my remote laptos from my workstation. I've to do a rmmod and start it again. This is the only dirty fix, I've found for normal wifi operation to come back.
