Description (Last modified by mrenzmann)

Hi ,

I have NETGEAR RANGEMAX WPN311 802.11 a/b/g wireless PCI card. It has Atheros AR5212 chipset. I am using LINUX Kernel 2.6.5 (Fedora core 2).

The problem is when i install the module and enable the device the system become very slow. It is taking around 2 hours to get back it's original speed. These are the steps i am doing initially

1. modprobe ath_pci
2. modprobe wlan_scan_sta
3. iwconfig ath0 essid "SSID_OF_AP"
4. ifconfig ath0 <ip> netmask <subnet mask> up

Should i do anything other than this???? Can anybody help me !!!!

Thanks

  • description changed.

Please describe your system/setup more in detail (what CPU, what version of MadWifi, ...). What do you mean by "the system gets slow"? And does something you do have effect on the time your system needs to get back to its original speed, or is that time always the same, even if you don't touch it at all?
