Dear Experts,

On open SuSe?10.2 with "madwifi-0.9.2.1-0.1.i586.rpm", the installation was fine, modules loaded successfully; however, I've got the following error message during booting: "wifi%%d: unable to attach hardware: 'Hardware revision not supported' (HAL status 13)"

According to "lspci", the card is AR5006EG - "168c:001c", which should be supported. Btw, some info was scripted below. Kindly please help on resolving this problem. Many Thanks!

Is there any way that we could have the source code of the HAL, and modify the codes by ourselves, to speed up the progress?

The HAL source is available only for signees of an NDA with Atheros. Even if you would sign the NDA, you most probably would not be allowed to release your modifications to MadWifi, so the answer to your question is basically: no.

AR5006EG is a PCI-Express chipset, and some bugs related to supporting PCI-Express chipsets have been fixed in a new HAL release that has been committed in r1711 (after the release of v0.9.2). So it would be a good idea to give a recent snapshot a try, as the reported issue most likely has been fixed there.

Please report back about the results of your test.

thanks a bunch, card works fine on benq r55eg with opensuse 10.2

does not work out of the box though until proper stable package is released you'll have to compile the snapshots on your own (no rpm for 10.2 yet)
